The Yard & Beyond

Feel free to use all of the yard for your enjoyment.  Just a few requirements and pieces of information:

  • Please stay within the grassy areas and do not go beyond.  The lake, forest areas and trails are private property that belong to our neighbors

  • Wild animals.  The property backs up to tens of thousands of acres of wilderness.  It is not uncommon to see deer, rabbits, elk and other wildlife wander across the yard.  Black bears inhabit the forest as do other wild animals.  There have been reports of occasional cougar sightings slightly south of Manzanita.  Be aware you are in nature and take necessary precautions, especially with children.  Fortunately, there have not been any recent sightings of Bigfoot

  • Do not climb any trees

  • You may use any of the outdoor furniture, toys & games, BBQs, etc. that you find in the garage.  You can also use the firewood stacked along the wall to make a fire in the fire pit. During the warm and dry summer months, the Fire Marshall will likely ban outdoor fires.  Renters are responsible for checking before having a fire

  • There are two outdoor webcams on the property.  They are installed for the safety of the property and the guests

  • The property sits just off of Highway 101.  PLEASE BE CAREFUL entering and exiting the driveway.  We suggest only turning right when leaving.  You may hear some street noise, but this has not been an issue for our guests.  The property is located outside of the tsunami zone at the top of town.  It is just over 1/2 mile to the beach - about a 10-12 minute walk
